Darwin Whitman, Coming Your Way, Bringing Messages From The Tabernacle
And for those who are not familiar with the term “Sanctuary;” think of it in terms of a “Tabernacle,” and then add a Courtyard! And then to appreciate it’s significance, importance, and relevancy – listen to what Scriptures tell us concerning the “Sanctuary,” beginning with Psalm 77:13 “Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?” And it’s importance is noted in John’s writings, in the gospel named after him; John 5:46 “For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 5:47 “But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” And how did Moses write about Jesus, through the symbols and services of the Sanctuary; Hebrews 9:24 “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:” So – to understand what Christ is trying to tell us in the New Testament, we must understand what Moses told us through the Sanctuary, making its understanding very important today! And finally, its relevancy is noted by Paul, in 1 Corinthians 10:1, 11, where he refers to “our fathers,” whom, in his description, are the children of Israel; 10:1 (KJV) “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, (those of us) upon whom the ends of the world are come.” So, the events surrounding the children of Israel, happened, and were written down, for the benefit of those living at the end of the world! So it is quite significant to each one of us today!
Now just understanding the “nuts and bolts” of the Sanctuary, meaning it’s physical construction, is meaningless, unless we can benefit personally from that information. And that is the heart of our ministry – “Applying” the Symbols, Colors, Articles, and Services, and in that format, aiding the student to come away with “Information that allows for Restoration, or Reformation,” or both, in their lives! And for the past 25 years I have been crisscrossing North America, with a 4 X 10 foot model of the wilderness Sanctuary, the uniform of the High Priest, and many other visual aids, conducting sixty to ninety minute classes over a 4-6 day period, focusing exclusively on the applications for end time Christians! And at this Website, you will find multiple classes, each dealing with a specific aspect of the Sanctuary, and drawing a lesson from it. And my new years resolution, by God’s grace, is to begin adding more and more classes! This ministry began in the mid to late 1980’s, and has continuously operated since, traveling, and teaching, wherever invited, plus providing materials for individual studies, which now have literally circled the globe! And we take no praise for anything good that comes from this ministry, because without God’s leading, and blessings, there would be no ministry! Our legal name is Sanctuary Crusade, Inc., but for the sake of instant recognition of what we are about, we use the name Sanctuary Classes International, or, for brevity, SCI. And early on, we were granted tax exemption status, which we enjoy to this day. Lessons from the Sanctuary

This past week, my friend from up in Michigan, Lyle Kitson, and I have been working on the new truck, converting the box into living quarters. But before we could do anything, we had to go to the store and purchase an electric saw, and drill.
When we got back to the truck, I took the saw out of the box, handed it to Lyle, and showed him the board I needed him to cut. But, instead of cutting, he stood where I handed him the saw, and looked at me! When I asked him what the problem was, he simply indicated that the saw was useless without power, and the power source was too far away to plug it in, and still be able to cut the board! So we both agreed, what we needed was an Extension Cord, if any thing was to happen with that new saw!
And that simple event opened up a window on a very important role of religion, that each one of us needs to be reminded of, and was so well spoken by Dr. Samuel Betance, Phd, in his keynote speech at Kettering College of Medical Arts, in Kettering, Ohio. His words were, and I quote, “WE NEED TO BECOME EXTENSIONS OF EACH OTHER’S BEST SELF.”

The Sanctuary, which includes the "Tabernacle," which houses God's Throne, is also identified as the very article that Satan has in mind, for his own habitation.
For Scriptures tell us, first; Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Psalm 77:13 So God's "Way" is in the Sanctuary, which includes the Tabernacle. And in Psalm 63:1, 2, we learn, it is in the Sanctuary, that we see God's power and glory. And Paul tells us in Hebrews 4:16, it is at the "Throne of Grace," where we can expect to find "grace," which is "power."
But the Palmist also tells us, in Psalm 73:17 (Not) Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
"Their" meaning the foolish and wicked of verse 3; who are naturally doing the bidding of their father, the devil (John 8:44).
So, the buck stops with the Devil, and by his own words, he announces that he has an ambition to sit on the Throne that God occupied!
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Psalm 77:13 tells us that God’s “Way” is in the Sanctuary. But what does that mean to us individually? To understand, appreciate, and then appropriate its meaning, we must step outside the Sanctuary confines, and take a look at ourselves in the Mirror of God’s Word.
Now, for some, there is a temptation for them to measure themselves, by themselves – that’s not good. For others, the temptation is to measure themselves by others, and that’s not good either. We must never forget – for every mile of road, there are always two miles of ditches, and the devil doesn’t care which one you fall into. And God would have us know this: 2 Corinthians 10:12 “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
So, lets look closer at God’s “Way,” which the Psalmist declared to be “in the Sanctuary.” And as we approach the Sanctuary – God’s Word pictures us in this condition: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away,” Isaiah 64:6. So here we are, coming to God’s Plan of Salvation, “unclean,” with the best we can do on our own, is likened unto “filthy rags.” To this point of “truly” returning, some folks have participated in “make believe religion,” that Isaiah also identifies: 4:1 “And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread (which represents spiritual food), and wear our own apparel (clothing representing spiritual covering): only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.” It is this group the Wall Street Journal described as being “a mile wide, and an inch deep.”
But now they have responded to the invitation of Jesus: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” Matthew 11:28. And to find Jesus, you must go where He is, and He tells us exactly where that is at: John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” So, if God’s “Way” is in the Sanctuary, and Jesus is the only way to the Father, then He must also be in the Sanctuary. And He affirms that very fact through John: 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…”
